We are Revontulet!
Revontulet (also known as Reve, Revarit or Revot) is the first Finnish Love Live! cover group, consisting of nine members. The group covers songs from Love Live! School Idol Project, Love Live! Sunshine!!, and PERFECT Dream Project; mainly in Japanese, but also occasionally in Finnish. The group has also expanded their creative work to live performances at various Finnish conventions, their first live taking place at Tracon 2019.
The name Revontulet is the Finnish word for northern lights. The name was chosen because Finland is located in the northern part of Europe (between Russia and Sweden), and especially in the very north of Finland, Lapland, you can see the northern lights during winter.
Before re-branding their image, the group was called Revontuli Idols, a combination of the singular word for "revontulet" and the English word "idols", because all the members are from Finland, and decided that a somewhat "Finnish" name would be suitable. The re-branding became a topic of discussion because everyone felt that a shorter name would be better, and since everyone in the group referred to it as "Revontulet", it was chosen as the new official name, though a completely new name was also considered.
